dotKoeln is the registry for .koeln and .cologne. In this role, dotkoeln is responsible for operating the name servers, managing the namespace and operating the whois servers with data on the domain holders. However, it is not possible to register a domain directly with dotkoeln.

Any company wishing to offer domain registration services under the (new) gTLDs and thus enter into a direct business relationship with a registry such as dotKoeln GmbH must first be accredited by ICANN (2013 RAA).
